I have mostly been knitting and crocheting but would love to move on now to sewing my own clothes. I can hem and darn and do basic things but am really keen to move up a level.
I have scoured the internet looking for videos and guides that are really for beginners, some say they are but then talk about very specific techniques that I don’t yet know about.
I wanted to share with you this fantastic video I found about creating a simple elastic waisted skirt. The lady on the sewing a simple skirt video is a pro and says she can make one in 12 mins!
Do you know of any other good sites for beginners with lots of enthusiasm?
Hello Fellow Fidgeters,
I have not touched base for a very long time, things have been very hectic! I am currently planning my wedding (2 weddings) and have taken on a new job so it’s all go – but that’s no excuse for the amount of time I haven’t posted anything.
As I have stopped hating my laptop with it’s slow speed and crashing tenancies I fully intend to be committed to my blog! So – I will keep you posted on what I’m making, currently it’s my throw which after 200 squares isn’t quite done and what’s exciting out there!
So, I’m back and please stay tuned for more!!
I’ve been spending a lot of time on Pinterest and it’s amazing how much beautiful work is out there. It really shows that people still love to create and how you can personalise items and make them more meaningful. There’s so many things I’ve been pinning for inspiration that I’ve had to reorganise my boards. I have created a new board only for Sewing and Knitting, please check it out to see some exquisite, fun and inspirational pieces. The existing Made Beautifully board will showcase everything else.
If you have any thoughts or would like to present anything you’ve been working on then please comment. I will soon be posting up some of the things that my friends and I have made.
As promised, here’s my Pinterest board. It has cool creations from all areas.
Make sure you keep checking it out to see lots of new ideas and things you can try yourself!
It has been quite a while since I posted and that was due to research. I have been casting my eye across sites and chatting away to creative types to see what’s about and of interest. I have seen lots of cool things including people who have turned existing products into something exciting, they didn’t build it from scratch but had the vision and creativity to use their hands and make something brand new. I have also been sourcing pictures, videos and ideas from all around and I will soon be posting it them all up for your perusal.
Your views and comments will be much appreciated!
